About
Pillar is field service management software for trade businesses. It connects scheduling, dispatch, estimates, work orders, invoices and customer records so the office and technicians can work from the same job history. The calendar includes technician lanes, unscheduled jobs and conflict warnings when appointments overlap. Technicians can access assignments, photos, checklists and signatures from a phone. The platform also covers recurring work, service agreements, equipment, inventory, purchase orders and job profitability. Customers can review appointments, approve estimates and pay through their portal.
Editor's note
Pillar's appeal is its lack of feature tiers: a solo operator gets the same tools as a larger crew. The real cost distinction is between subscription seats and transaction charges. Online payments add a 1% Pillar fee to Stripe's processing, and business texting and calling use prepaid credit.

Frequently asked
- Is the free account just a trial?
- No. One person can use it without a time limit or credit card. Monthly job, estimate and invoice creation limits apply while the account has only one user.
- Who counts as a paid user?
- Additional technicians, office staff, managers and other people operating the business need paid seats. Customer and subcontractor portal accounts are free.
- Does Pillar prevent scheduling overlaps?
- It warns about conflicting appointments and suggests available times. Dispatchers can still allow an overlap intentionally.
